At Southwest Soda Pop Shop, you can get quite experimental with the toppings and flavors. The family-owned, black-owned business if definitely worth supporting and stands as one of the more unique dessert locations in the DC area.

You can get quite experimental with the toppings and flavours here. I tried one of their signatures and it was a great combination! The Birthday Cake Explosion has layers of butter pecan and birthday cake ice cream, actual birthday cake, and a chocolate chip cookie crumble at the bottom, topped with fresh cream and sprinkles. Southwest Soda Pop Shop is built around a favoured 'old school concept' and was a great addition to The Wharf.
