My approach is influenced by both Southern African and American cooking, shaped by my life experiences and reflected in the diversity of my recipes. The founders wanted to bring a funky piece of New York's restaurant scene to DC. The chefs who work on the menu and put the dishes together come from various backgrounds, and it comes through in the food----you can see a lot of different influences. Great spot to take a date!

The ambiance is pretty fantastic both outside in the patio area and inside—-very chic.

Some of the best hummus I had had in a while - the unique flavor added by the lentils and different textures makes it special, not to mention the hot, freshly baked roti.

Not only do they make great food but their chef barman knows what he is doing. This cocktail a spin off the pisco salad.

By far one of the most unique items on the entire menu. The mussels taste glorious and the sauce they are swimming. On top of mashed yukon it ties everything together on the toast. The green colour in particular is an Instagramer’s dream.

Not sure if succulent is the corrective term, but that’s how I would describe it. The fat from the ragu along with the percino takes this dish to another level.
